One week to go till our first SciFi/Pop Culture Fair at Granville. Shaping up well with a mix of former Parra Town Hall dealers, Penrith Fair regulars and some new faces as well. Nearly 70 tables booked at moment, comics, action figures, posters, DVD's, magazines, trading cards and more. One dealer at least has just returned from the San Diego Comic Con and will have some of the show exclusives available. Dealers list will be on the event page on Friday.
The organizer of the Parramatta Collectors Fairs that used to be held at the Town Hall has come out of hiding and announced he is back running the show at a new location the Parramatta PCYC on August 24. Our show at Granville on the 17th August is still going ahead and is being promoted around Sydney. The restart of the Parra show if it does happen will not affect Collectormanias new SCIFI/Pop Culture events ,Dealers and members of the public will probably go to both to see what they are like and we are aiming to put on a good show for you with over 50 tables booked already and a number of displays being organized. Seems some people have a short selective memory of the happenings at Parramatta in Feb and the cancelled May show.
A big thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and made this Penrith the biggest and best show yet. Special thanks to Cliff ,his wife and daughter and Greg and his daughter who helped me set up on Saturday and man the entrance for me on Sunday when all my staff went sick. Plenty of favourable comments on the Batmobile and Herbie's (yes there were two of them) so we will keep up this display trend with two TV/Movie cars or race cars on display at each Penrith Show. I know it was a bit slow getting in in the morning due to the size of the queue so we will endeavour to have two entrance desks at the next fair to speed it up a bit. I would also like to give a big thanks to the dealers who helped when one of our exhibitors fell ill late in the day and assisted him until the ambulance arrived. Hope you are better soon Rick. We are already planning the next big Penrith fair for October 19 and hope to have some special guests at this one as well (please note the fair being promoted in August at Penrith is not a Collectormania event) . Coming Collectormania events are our first SciFi/Pop Culture Fair at Granville on August 17, then Hornsby on Sep21, Canberra on Sep 28 before returning to Penrith. Watch the facebook page and website for updates.
If anyone is available to come down Saturday morning to help set up the tables for Penrith Collectormania please msg me or come out about 930 to the exhibition Marque, Have had all 3 people who were going to set up go sick on me today.Free tables or will pay cash.
Two date changes for September, Hornsby show will now be on September 21 and Canberra show moved to September 28. Changes due to another event at Canberra Epic Park which can no longer provide me tables for hall on original date and not wishing to clash with OZ Comic Con in Sydney on Sep13-14. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Thanks to all who came down to Wollongong for our first show there yesterday. Unfortunately not a great turnout through the door but we will work on that. Great venue at the Bulli PCYC plenty of space and a good variety of product on offer. Special thanks to Kenny from Kennys Brickiez who designed our new Banners and entrance table covers with our new logo for the SciFi show 'Collector Man'. Lots of good comments. Next up is the big one at Penrith on July 13, we have already passed the 200 table mark and this is traditionaly our biggest show of the year, this will then be followed by our first SclFi/Pop Culture show in Granville in August and then in September at Hornsby and Canberra.
