The Holy Cross "Goodtime" Marching Band is proud to be one of the oldest continually running student organizations at the College of the Holy Cross. The Holy Cross Band was originally formed in 1845 as the College Brass Band. During the fall, the "Goodtime" Marching Band practices three times a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, for 90 minutes each session. Performances include all home football games, select away games, and various events throughout the country. On game days, the band performs a pre-game show of traditional Holy Cross music, a variety of popular music in the stands, and a halftime field show. In the spring semester, band members trade in traditional uniforms for the striped rugby shirts and transform into the Holy Cross Crusader Pep Band. The Crusader Band performs at all home basketball games and select hockey games for both the men's and women's teams. During the spring, the band program offers a traditional symphonic band. The symphonic band is open to all students, regardless of their field of study, who have prior experiences on a wind or percussion instrument. The symphonic band performs a variety of standard and contemporary music and typically performs a concert near the end of the semester.
