'The Farm' is one of Melbourne's most treasured places. Only a few km's from Melbourne CBD in a big bend of the Yarra with lots of great animals for young kids to come and play with. www.farm.org.au Only 5km from the centre of Melbourne, nestled on a bend of the Yarra River lies seven hectares of paddocks, gardens, orchards, rustic buildings and shady trees. Established in 1979 the Collingwood Children's Farm is a not-for-profit community resource providing country experiences for city people. Open every day of the year. Visitors can milk the cow at 10am and 4pm, bottle feed young lambs (seasonal), wander around, feed the animals, help with farm chores, go into the paddocks with the sheep and goats, cuddle a guinea pig, waddle with the ducks, feed the chooks, look for eggs or just sit and unwind under a shady tree or on the banks of the Yarra river.

ADULTS NEEDED !
Annie Edney, our artist in residence, needs some adult help (over 16 years) to help get this year’s batch of lantern puppets made.
Working alongside Annie, you will be sticking gluey paper over cane frames to make wearable puppets - a bit fiddly and sticky but so worthwhile.
Bring your beanies, thick jackets and warm socks as you will be working in the Barn with no central heating!
This project isn’t friendly for small children (sadly), there’s too many ways they can get hurt or damage the fragile lanterns.
Session Times : Tuesdays June 4th, 11th and 18th from 10am - 2pm.
Come and lend a hand, it will be fun.
‘ Be a Farmer for a Day ’ July School Holiday Program now opened for bookings.
Please go to Get Involved and click on School Holiday Programs to find out how to book your place.
Collingwood Children’s Farm is 5km from the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.
We aim to bring city folk closer to land, animals, farm life and community.
The farm exists to support people in the Victorian community who are experiencing disadvantage, supporting social inclusion by delivering a range of programs from a rustic community working Farm.
Come for a leisurely stroll or a picnic in the paddock and watch the farm community at work.
Your entry fees support the farm to look after our animals and run community programs.
Please note: At busy times, for our animal’s welfare, access to paddocks may be closed to visitors.
On days where the temperature reaches ABOVE 35 degrees, the paddocks will not be open and we will not be running activities.
In cases of extreme weather, the Farm may close early.
Open every day of the year (except Winter Solstice) 9.15am - 4.45pm.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome!
