CAPN is a non profit clinic providing free physical, mental, and preventive health care to homeless and medically underserved individuals, primarily women and children, in Metropolitan Atlanta. The gracious support of our donors enables us to improve the health and well-being of thousands of homeless and underserved families in Atlanta. The mission of the Community Advanced Practice Nurses (CAPN) is to strengthen the lives of persons who are medically underserved and to help interrupt the cycle of poverty and homelessness for these individuals. Healthy independence is promoted through health care delivered with acceptance, compassion, and sensitivity to an individual’s life circumstances.
CAPN provides many vital services to the homeless and medically underserved in Atlanta, Georgia. These services include primary care services, specialized pediatric health care, developmental and speech assessments for children, gynecological services for women, pap smear, STI screening and treatment, HIV testing, referrals for obstetrics/pregnancy and pregnancy counseling, tuberculosis skin testing, immunizations for children, dental care referrals, eye care referrals, mental health care counseling and treatment, substance abuse counseling, group therapy, as well as case management services such as transportation assistance and housing referrals.
