Our team at Chali.B is passionate about seeing change not just in our communities but in the lives of the children living in them.

Description

Laughter, squeaky swing sets and grass stained clothes are some of the images that may come to mind when we think of children playing “a little too rough.” Unfortunately for some children playing outside is not an option because in their community “rough” means gang violence and bullets. Our team at Chali.B is passionate about seeing change not just in our communities but in the lives of the children living in them. Our organization focuses on bringing upward movement to our hurting communities. Where there is need in a child’s life whether that need be an absentee mother or father, exposure to violence and addiction or just a safe place to go, Chali.B is the helping hand standing in-between a desperate, lonely child and the streets. We believe that children in overwhelming situations need to be empowered, shown that each day is worth living. For these children Chali.B will bring light to dark places and hope where it seems there is none. We will break down barriers holding these children back. We will over turn every negative word spoken to them or over their young lives and we will do it by showing them that they are loved, that there is beauty and kindness in the world and that someone does care. Our vision is to one day have a Chali.B Center in every “at risk” community so that every child has the option and opportunity to be transported directly from their school to their neighborhood’s Chali.B Center. At these centers programs will be in place consisting of mentors, tutors, life coaches and job training. We will engage in community outreach, food drives and charity events as well as sports competitions, tournaments and conferences. Most importantly what we will be doing for those who choose to take advantage of our programs and facilities is providing a safe environment in which to grow and learn where there otherwise may not have been one. Chali.B children will be making a difference in each others lives and in the lives of others. They will belong to an organization that stands for not only good but change and transformation of thought. Yes, our children will be kept safe. Out of gangs, away from drugs and violence and off the streets but more importantly with Chali.B these children will be handed the tools necessary to be able to walk out into the streets with confidence because what we will be doing every day is helping them to build their own safe place inside themselves. In order to get things off the ground so that we can bring this project to its full potential we will need City Leaders, Community Leaders, Church Leaders and brother organizations to help sponsor our vision. City and community involvement will be paramount as promotions and donations will be crucial to the actualization of these programs. We will be reaching out to all available resources including the state for funding and public aid, our goal being to assist families with even the lowest of incomes in program enrollment. In an effort to raise awareness and funds we have designed tee shirts promoting our organization. All proceeds will go to the Chali.B Youth Center building fund and program start-up. There are many organizations with similar goals to Chali.B, getting innocent children off of dangerous streets and away from gang members, drugs, violence and other such horrors is a noble goal. This goal at times may seem daunting, to some even impossible. What sets Chali.B apart from other organizations is that where their facilities and programs are set up with the ultimate goal of saving lives, for Chali.B saving our members will merely be step one. Our organization does not seek to build another recreational center with loads of fun after school activities. What we mean to build is much more. As the first step in any long relationship is a foundation of safety and trust, so will our first step be with our first members. We will not just be building a center we will be building a home. Once we’ve built it we won’t just start finding members we will be starting a family. Our journey of service will not end with giving our new family safety but begin there. We will grow in the love and trust that is that safety and always remember that before anything else we are servants. We are servants first to God and second each other. As our family grows with that understanding we will remain humble, we will always think of others before ourselves and we will always be looking for the next opportunity to serve. Growing and learning together through God Chali.B will soon be overflowing with an abundance of blessing.
