We would suggest that you talk to your Occupational Therapist and Doctor for the instruction in the proper use of our weighted products. These are handmade so check the product regularly for rips or tears. Repair the blankets/lap pads when necessary. These are machine washable on gentle cycle, lay flat to dry, smoothing them out to insure they dry all the way through. They may be put in the dryer for a few minutes on cool to fluff. Please do not use a weighted product on someone who cannot get out from under it on their own without any help. Not recommended for children who cannot get out from under the product in a fast enough time not to cause risk of suffocation.
