I'm a 30-year-old girl from Rome, Italy. I'm currently in Newcastle because I've followed my partner - and co-chef, waiter and overall kitchen slave - who's doing a research project at Newcastle Uni. I've always had a passion for cooking, which in turn is related to my passion for eating. I started cooking with my mom at a very young age, and after that I've worked in different kitchens, learning all the secrets of the art of cooking. I ADORE Roman cuisine - and I can't wait to share my love with the world. Don't be fooled: 'Italian food' doesn't exist. What my country has to offer is an infinite variety of very different regional foods, of which Roman is probably the most succulent variety (as anyone who has been to Rome knows). What you get at our table (we're based in Islington, Newcastle) is the true Roman culinary experience: a delicious, belt-busting 3-course meal, which comes in both meat and veggie version! The concept of "home restaurant" goes hand in hand with that of "social eating": in other words, the experience is as much about people as it is about food. What does this mean? We can host a maximum of six people, which will all be seated at the same table. So if you're a party of six people you can have the table all to yourselves. Alternatively, while enjoying a delicious meal, you may also get a chance to meet some strangers and make new friends!
