Description
Cross River Rail is the necessary next step to transform South East Queensland’s public transport and economy. It will deliver a new 10.2 kilometre rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, with 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD. The project will deliver new services to stations at five key locations including Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street, Roma Street and Exhibition showgrounds. These stations will anchor major redevelopment opportunities, unlocking significant tracts of underutilised government-owned land which can be renewed and repurposed into world-class hubs of retail, tourism, knowledge and innovation, entertainment, sports activities and commercial uses. Cross River Rail will provide a seamless journey between the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast and increase capacity to cater for major growth areas across South East Queensland.
