Cy-Fair High School is a secondary school located in Cypress, which is an unincorporated place in Harris County, Texas, near Houston. The school, located along U.S. Highway 290, is part of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.HistoryThe Cypress and Fairbanks school districts consolidated in 1939. Cy-Fair High School was opened in the spring of 1941 and received some national acclaim after being dedicated by then First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Cy-Fair High School remained the only high school in the Cy-Fair CSD until Jersey Village High School opened in 1972. There are now 10 high schools in CFISD.The school, which had expanded for several decades beyond the original 1941 design, was modernized after the 1999-2000 school year. Additional classrooms were added during the renovation. The façade at the front main doors remain.Additional InformationThe school has approximately 35 active student clubs, including Model United Nations, National Honor Society, and one of the largest Key Clubs in the state of Texas. Seventy percent of Cy-Fair High School graduates go on to college.Cy-Fair competes athletically in District 17-6A of the University Interscholastic League.The 2007 baseball team won the state championship in baseball. In 2008 The Girls Basketball team defeated DeSoto to win their first ever State Championship. The Lady Bobcats repeated as State Champs in 2010.
