Dallas Ballet Company is a pre-professional dance company in Dallas, TX. Formerly City Dance Theatre, Dallas Ballet Company is a non-profit entity organized in 1989 to operate a dance company for the pre-professional dancer.
Company members are selected annually in open auditions for pre-professional dancers (age 14+). There are also performing opportunities for City Dance Theatre Apprentices (age 13+), Apprentice Trainees (age 13+), and Junior company members (age 12+). The company has produced the Nutcracker each year since inception. Company members have participated in performances of Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, La Fille mal Gardee, Raymonda, Le Corsaire, and Don Quixote. Excerpts from these ballets have been performed in Irving, Tyler, and Greenville, Texas, as well as Durant, Oklahoma. The company is invited to perform at many other events such as the Dallas Morning News Dance Festival, Dance for the Planet, and lecture demonstrations for elementary schools and retirement homes throughout the year. Additionally, in 2001 and 2002, DBCo presented Bravo!Ballet, a cultural event for the city of Dallas with guest artists from New York City Ballet.

Don't forget! Dallas Ballet Company performs at Market in the Meadow Sunday from 12:45-1:15 at Forrest Meadow Junior High School. Performing dancers expected to arrive no later than 11:45 with makeup and hair done, with all necessary accessories in hand (hair pieces, costumes if not taken by studio, et cetera). Dallas Ballet Company is proud to host the 2014 Regional Dance America Southwest Festival March 21-23 at the Eiseman Center for Performing Arts, featuring over 600 dancers from 22 dance companies. We're excited that there are so many ways you can participate! 1) Volunteer! We're looking for 100+ volunteers to help with everything from laying flooring to monitoring classes. 2) Become a sponsor! Still can't get enough of Nutcracker, or couldn't join us last weekend? The Dallas Ballet Company will be performing excerpts from its 2013 Nutcracker this Saturday, December 14, at Northpark Center. Performances will be at 2:30 and 3:30pm between Macy's and Nordstrom, beneath the food court. Be sure to allow ample time to park. We look forward to seeing you up close and personal!
