Due to the large size of the crowd expected at Andrew's Memorial, the service has been moved to Hillcrest Christian Church at 509 S. Graves Street McKinney, TX 75069.
It is with heavy hearts that we share about the accidental drowning of former DCC student, Andrew “Bird” Ramos. Andrew was a student from 2004-2008 and played soccer while at DCC. His Memorial Service will be held tomorrow evening (Tuesday, April 15, 2014) at 5:30 p.m. at Ranchland Christian Church, 2414 W. University Dr., McKinney, TX 75071. Please keep Andrew’s family in your prayers and pray for Jason as he tries to extend God’s peace and comfort to them.
We are extremely pleased to announce that Dallas Christian College has brought Dr. Brian Horn on board to serve as the Department Chair of our Teacher Education program and as a Professor in that same program. Dr. Horn will be joining the DCC community in June. Dr. Horn is currently an Assistant Professor of Education in the Center for Teacher Education at Colorado Mesa University and serves as the Secondary Licensure Coordinator there. Prior to his time at Colorado Mesa University, he taught for more than a decade at Creekview High School in Carrollton, Texas. There he received many honors, including being chosen as the Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities by Humanities Texas in 2011. He has over twenty-one national or regional presentations and five scholarly publications to his credit. Dr. Horn received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Texas, and his M.Ed. and B.S. from the University of Oklahoma. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at UNT and at the University of Memphis. Dr. Horn is not only a gifted educator. He is also a man of deep faith and convictions, devoted to his family and to service in the Kingdom of God. Join us in praying for him and his family as they return to north Texas and join our family here.
