Born in 1976 in Boston, Daniel is an up and coming photographer with a focus on landscape, cityscape and architecture. Daniel got his start in the late 1990′s with a Nikon 4500 and quickly upgraded to DSLR when the Nikon D70 came out. Recently, he transitioned to a Canon system and has focused primarily on HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. “My Grandmother is a local artist – we recently discussed the difference between painting and photography. It’s interesting to hear her take on how a key difference between the mediums is that painters can ‘set the scene’ – they have the ability to lighten areas and capture what the eye actually sees — the thing is with HDR, the photographer has the very same ability, it’s a lot of fun to work in post-processing and the results seem to really catch people’s eyes!” Daniel enjoys traveling and always brings his gear along on both business and personal trips. Locations Daniel has visited include: various cities throughout the USA and Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, Cayman Brac, England, Wales, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey and will be photographing Vietnam and Thailand this fall with his wife, Lorraine. When he is not on the road, Daniel frequently takes to the streets of Boston, Somerville and Cambridge, tripod in hand, and captures the beauty of his hometown. Locally, Daniel is active in the community, helping organize events via meetup.com focusing on introducing new and experienced photographers and hobbyists to the use of HDR and the importance of the ‘right light’.
