Program and service reviews in Colorado with information on resources to better one another. Not a "company overview" as Facebook asks for, but here is the idea. If you have ever been in a situation which involved seeking help from the services around you, I may not have to say too much to help you understand, that many of the services hide behind their papers as proof that they are, "charitable", "helpful", or whatever they claim to be. And yet, how many people have fallen on hard times after having been a taxpayer and law abiding productive asset to their community, only to be treated like trash when they need help? Hillary Clinton coming to Denver? Round up all of the homeless, or people who might appear so, and move them. Then, when the entourage rolls through, the facade will hold back the reality of Denver *not* being one big party of smoking marijuana and celebrating the Broncos in the great American sunshine state. Only in Colorado, now that is as much an understatement as it is sad. https://www.denverdonate.com/xonly-in-colorado-denver-donate.jpg.pagespeed.ic.qTrHQIjD_U.jpg The Denver 16th street mall, which brings in over $1 billion dollars per year on that street alone. What you see there are the homeless on that street freezing and huddled together for warmth before the police got to them. Go a few streets in, where between the Samaritan Hose and the Denver Rescue Mission which shines the bastion of Denver's greatness with "Jesus Saves" the homeless laying on the sidewalks in the blistering cold, huddled together for any type of warmth and hoping not to wake up missing a toe. https://www.denverdonate.com/xjesus-saves-denver-donate.jpg.pagespeed.ic.L6OFtLm_xu.jpg

Let's equip our workers with the skills to compete in a 21st-century economy. "To make sure folks keep earning higher wages down the road, we have to do more to help Americans upgrade their skills. America thrived in the 20th century because we made high school free, sent a generation of GIs to college, trained the best workforce in the world. We were ahead of the curve. But other countries caught on. And in a 21st century economy that rewards knowledge like never before, we need to up our game. We need to do more." President Obama, 2015 State of the Union The premise is simple: If you're ready to work, you should be able to find a job that fits your skills. And if you want to move up within your field into a better job, you should have access to training to get the skills you need. In his 2014 State of the Union address, the President tasked Vice President Biden with leading a review of federal employment and training programs, with the aim of making them more job-driven. That review was completed, and the White House released a report identifying what is working across the country, detailing executive actions we're taking, and announcing new commitments by employers, non-profits, unions, and innovators to do what they can to make these training programs a priority. Now, it's time to build on that progress. Scroll down to learn more about why these training programs matter, which programs around the country are working best, and what you can do to contribute to that progress. Getting Ready to Work There are programs at work right now to make sure Americans entering the workforce have the skills they need to fill the in-demand jobs currently available in their communities — and they're making a difference. The Obama Administration has granted $450 million in TAACCCT (Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training) grants to nearly 270 community colleges across the country. Where Can I Upskill? Across the country, employers and labor leaders are answering the President’s call and equipping workers with the skills and opportunities that they need to get ahead in their careers. The Upskill Initiative highlights the leadership of over 100 employers, who employ more than 5 million workers, and are making concrete commitments to empower front-line workers across their businesses. In partnership with over 30 labor unions across the country, and accelerated by new innovative data and tools, these commitments will help millions of front-line workers, like the ones featured on this map, get ahead in their careers. Learn more about the employers and labor leaders who are paving the way, and the stories of workers who are working hard to get ahead.

Harm Reduction Action Center
231 E Colfax Ave Denver , CO 80203 United States

For the past 14 years, the HRAC has been CO's primary provider of public health information, programming, and advocacy. The Harm Reduction Action Center is the only Colorado public health agency specifically focusing on injection drug users and their sexual partners that would not otherwise have access to appropriate health education, healthcare services, and emotional support designed specifically for the needs and culture of the IDU community. Formerly known as the “Little Red House” in the West side of Denver, the Harm Reduction Action Center serves more than 1,700 people affected by injection drug-use every year. HRAC (formally known as the Harm Reduction Project/Drop-In Center) is a recognized expert in providing HIV & Hepatitis C prevention programming, using harm-reduction principles to reduce the negative consequences of drug use impacting individuals, families and the larger community. Harm reduction enables us to meet drug users "where they're at," addressing the conditions of use along with the use itself. The Harm Reduction Action Center develops personal relationships with clients, guided by compassion, mutual respect, and evidence-based solutions, empowering clients to reduce the harmful effects of marginalized lifestyles. We are located at 733 Santa Fe Drive in Denver, Colorado. We are open for client drop-in services Monday through Friday from 9am to noon.
