General Info

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) provides a wide range of services, often in partnership with others, to the people who live, work and visit the county and aims to achieve excellence in all it does. The Service is available to respond to calls across Derbyshire every minute of every day and works hard to reduce the risks of fires, road traffic accidents and other incidents across the county through its activities. The Service currently employs approximately 450 wholetime firefighters, 350 retained duty system firefighters, 40 Command and Control personnel and 180 support personnel. The Services operates and maintains 31 fire stations, four area offices and the Service's headquarters in Littleover, Derby. The Service's governing body is the Derbyshire Fire Authority which provides strategic leadership, monitors the costs incurred by the service and sets the budget.
