I do one of a kind....custom Fire agate carvings.... Wire wrapping.....& Custom cut gemstones.... I'm intrigued by the Fire agate the most..still to this day.... A year ago I cast my eyes on my 1st Fire agate... Since then my captivation with the Fire Agate has nearly consumed me & my time... After scouring Colorado...I could not find Fire agate that I liked....for a price that I could afford.... The more I read & learned about the art of carving the very elusive "fire" in this very hard stone....the more interested I became.... Finally I found & shoe box full of Mexican rough.....at a local lapidary shop.... I bought the shoe box full of rough stuff & began to experiment carving them.... I would stay up for days chasing the fire layers of color.....mesmerized & captivated from what was hidden inside millions of years of the earth formations.....carving through layer after layer.... Needless to say I have not stopped my carving since then....& I still learning with each one because no 2 will ever be alike.... One of a kind !!! This web page allows me to share my love & obsession with Fire agates.... Thanks to my brother R.D. DeSoto I have also gotten into wire wrapping...(in sterling silver) ....the Fire agates that I have had the luck to work on...or have in my possession...also wire wrapping other stones & gems that I have carved or collected from others..... As one thing fell into another.... I began to experiment with other gems & stones.... Cutting ....carving ....& polishing.... I'm looking to get into more silver smithing to set my stones into.... I have recently become very find of opals & have some beautiful pieces that I have hand carved & polished....& many other pieces of interesting materials.... Custom pieces are available.....& ideas are welcomed.....
