We believe that creativity and design are essential tools for increasing quality of life and economic prosperity for all people of Detroit. We envision a city where utilizing creativity and design is considered a fundamental way of doing business. DC3 is an economic development organization that works to strengthen Detroit’s creative economy and connect people to it. DC3 provides services to creative businesses and designers, offers widespread opportunities to engage with Detroit’s creative sectors, and champions Detroit’s creative economy. DC3 is a partnership between Business Leaders for Michigan and College for Creative Studies. DC3 PROGRAMS DETROIT CITY OF DESIGN On December 15, 2015, Detroit became the first and only city in the United States to receive the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) City of Design designation. Obtaining this designation has been part of DC3's strategy to grow Detroit’s creative economy since we were launched in 2010. DRINKS X DESIGN Held in a new location on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8pm, Drinks x Design offers an opportunity for creative businesses throughout the city to open their doors and share their work with the public. Attendees come to meet new people, make connections, promote their creative endeavors and learn about other projects in their community. Event information will be released one month before each event. DETROIT DESIGN FESTIVAL The Detroit Design Festival (DDF) is a week-long, city-wide series of happenings that explore the creative talent in our city. As the first UNESCO City of Design in the United States, the Detroit Design Festival has become the catalyst for creative discussions on how design can be accessible for everyone and leave a lasting impact in our communities. CREATIVE CO. Creative Co. is a collaborative membership network of interdisciplinary designers and agencies founded to fulfill the creative needs of Michigan’s business community. Creative Co. operates as a design trade association providing industry-vetted members with exclusive business development opportunities, educational workshops, community events, and mentor engagement.

Our mission is to strengthen Detroit’s creative economy and connect people to it. We do this by providing services to creative businesses and designers, offering widespread opportunities to engage with Detroit’s creative sectors, and championing policies and initiatives that will improve opportunities for creative business in Detroit. We serve creative businesses and designers. We partner with a wide range of academic institutions, non-profit art and culture organizations, public sector agencies, and community and economic development organizations, locally and internationally. We offer experiences that inspire and delight design enthusiasts.
