Death's Head FX started basically in 2010 with the intention of providing cheap effects and mods for people who play in bands and want good tone, without spending too much money. Our goal is to help the DIY working musician do a lot with a little.

General Info

All pedals are hand crafted in Milwaukee, WI, USA, by one misanthropic guy in his gross basement. Check back frequently to see what's new and in stock. FAQ's: Q: So what the fuck do you sell exactly? A: The bulk of my sales has been effects pedal modifications. I have modified Boss, Ibanez, MXR, Line 6, Danelectro, and various other pedals in the past. My most popular mods are by far my Boss DS-1 and Boss Metal Zone mods. I typically charge $30 for a basic mod, and $50 for something more involved. Here's a list of mods I currently do most frequently. These prices are for mods done to YOUR pedal. If you want me to source a peda for you and then mod it, cost will vary. As I mentioned, I will also keep stock around, and will post info about this frequently. Boss DS-1 Vintage mod (Brown Sound)- $30 Boss DS-1 Vintage High Gain mod (even browner)- $30 Boss DS-1 DHFX mod (our flagship mod...great for all heavy music)- $30 Boss DS-1 DHFX ES-1 (for those who like fidelity w/ their heavy)- $50 Boss DS-1 FUZZ 0))) (for slow doom lovers...great for bass, too!)- $50 *All DS-1's can be made to run at 18V. This will give the pedal some additional volume and headroom, and may also add some bass presence to the signal.The pedal can still be run at 9V as well. Add $10 for this option. Boss MT-2 Too Heavy mod (modern heavy tones)- $30 Boss MT-2 The Doominator (great for sludge/doom metal, Marshall voiced)- $30 Boss MT-2 Wheeley? mod (don't ask about the name)- $50 Boss TR-2 Tremfuck mod- $50 Ibanez Tubier Screamier mod- $30 ProCo Rat mods- I'll do 'em, but I'm not gonna lie, they are a bitch to do. $60 and I'll make your Rat howl like the rare Venusian WolfRat...yup. Danelectro Rad Tone (makes the Fab Tone way less embarrassing)- $30 ***ALL mods include your choice of LED color (white, red, green, blue, UV, orange, yellow) in a big or small LED (3mm or 5mm...how bright you want it?). Q: Those are OK, I guess. Don't you do any custom mods? A: Not right now. I've spent a lot of time working on these mods, and I feel like they cover a lot of ground. Working on custom mods is time consuming, and since everyone's individual tastes vary so greatly, it's really a lot of trial and error that sucks. Maybe someday, though. Q: Yeah, but do you sell any shit that you make yourself? A: Yes, just basic stuff for now, like tap tempo pedals, kill switches, feedback loopers, and true bypass loopers. All of these are typically made to order, but I do keep a *very* small bit of stock around. Check the page frequently for updates. If you have an idea for something you want me to build, send it my way and I'll see what if I can wrap my tiny brain around it. Q: Will you be designing your own circuits? A: At some point, yes.
