Dr. K studied Kinesiology Pre-Health with Co-op option at the University of Waterloo where she had the opportunity to work as Student Kinesiologist at BAPS Physiotherapy Clinic; as Restorative Care Assistant at SVNC Nursing Home; as Fitness Centre Supervisor at Georgian College; and for the last 2 terms, as a Laboratory Technician for Anatomy and Physiology Labs and Tutorials at Humber College. She wanted to incorporate her love of Science, Sport and Health, so went on to study Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). What is Naturopathic Medicine? It is a holistic medicine that aims to treat the root cause of disease by addressing mental, emotional and physical aspects of health. Thus all treatment plans are individualized. Treatment can be achieved by using: Acupuncture, Massage, Homeopathy, Herbs, Supplements Dr.K’s focus is in Sports Medicine. She treats the beginner all the way up to the elite athlete. She addresses nutrition, training, hydration, injury prevention and management. Other reasons to see Dr.K: Doula services, cold/flu, depression/anxiety, weight loss, insomnia, back pain, menopause and associated symptoms, menstrual concerns, digestive issues, migraines, high blood pressure, chronic pain, HIV/AIDS drug side effects/need for quality of life improvement
