A 1980 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Dr. Michael Bannan, practiced comprehensive cosmetic restorative dentistry in his two Michigan dental practice locations for 30 years before relocating to North Carolina. Dr. Michael Bannan now shares his considerable experience and expertise by regularly traveling to serve patients on location in Raleigh, Burgaw and Wilmington, North Carolina, working with several talented and trusted dental teams. Dr. Michael Bannan is an Accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), which represents successful completion of the most rigorous peer-reviewed accreditation process in the field of cosmetic dentistry. He is one of six dentists in NC, and of only 414 in the world to earn this honor. Beyond his accreditation, Dr. Michael Bannan is proud to serve the AACD as member on the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry. Committed to constant and never-ending improvement, Dr. Michael Bannan has completed over 3,000 hours of post-graduate continuing education and earned a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He has completed numerous advanced academic programs covering all aspects of comprehensive dentistry with emphasis in cosmetic dentistry, implants, and orthodontics and is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, currently working toward his Fellowship. Dr. Michael Bannan is also a sought-after speaker. He has presented to colleagues on a variety of topics on cosmetic dentistry. One of the dental industry’s leading professionals, he previously served as the official cosmetic dentist for the Mrs. Michigan-America pageant. Dr. Michael Bannan also serves as an adjunct faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Dental Ecology. Dr. Bannan’s experience extends beyond cosmetic dentistry. In his practice, Dr. Michael Bannan serves patients’ needs in the areas of implant prosthetics and comprehensive orthodontics. He believes in interdisciplinary teamwork for rehabilitation cases that present complexity beyond the scope of many general dentists. A strong advocate of giving back to the community, Dr. Michael Bannan is a volunteer dentist for NC Missions of Mercy Dental Clinics in various locations throughout North Carolina. He is also a volunteer at the St Mary’s Dental Clinic, in Wilmington, NC and provides Public Health Dentistry at the Pender County Dental Clinic.
