Dr. Thiessen graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 1988 and from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in 1983. After performing a locum tenens practice in over 25 clinics throughout Manitoba, he founded Ellice Chiropractic Centre in 1992 with Dr. Gordon Partridge. He serves on various Manitoba Chiropractors' Association committees and is past Registrar of the association. He is certified in spinal trauma by the International Chiropractors Association Council on Applied Chiropractic Sciences. He has lectured at the University of Manitoba in the faculty of Paediatric Dentistry as a teaching staff member in preventative dental science. He is a contracted service provider for the National Sport Centre and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences. He continues to serve in various capacities as a volunteer in MCA, sport, and community activities.
