Generated summary (experimental)

Gum disease is often silent and painless, which unfortunately means that symptoms may not appear until advanced stages of the disease.
However, warning signs of the development of periodontitis include:
– Bleeding gums while brushing and flossing – Loose teeth and/or the separation of teeth (making gaps between teeth appear larger) – Pus between your teeth and gums – Red, swollen, or tender gums – Gums that are receding or “shrinking,” causing the roots of your teeth to become exposed and teeth to look longer than before – Persistent bad breath – A change in the way your teeth feel when you bite
To help determine if you are at risk of having or developing periodontitis, click on this link ( service.previser.com/aap/default.aspx ) and take the American Academy of Periodontology’s risk assessment test.
Millions of people don’t know they have this serious infection that can lead to tooth loss and negatively impact your overall health if left untreated.
If you have any of these warning signs and would like to set up a comprehensive periodontal evaluation, please contact Dr. Weiner and her staff by either calling your office of choice (see “Contact” in the upper right hand corner) or emailing .
