Description

Meet Willow: Can you imagine a life where you woke up every morning feeling energized, empowered, and positive about your day to come? I want to help you feel better – physically, mentally, and emotionally – so that this can become a reality for you. My purpose is to inspire you towards a more active, healthy, and balanced lifestyle because I believe that we all deserve to feel our best, so we can go out and enjoy life to its fullest. I will work collaboratively with you to formulate a treatment plan that works best for you – whether that means taking small and meaningful steps that fit with your busy lifestyle or a complete overhaul. I will meet you where you are at in your personal journey towards health. I work to get to the root of your health problems, rather than simply suppressing your symptoms. I listen closely to your unique situation in order to customize a treatment protocol that is specific to you and your needs, taking into account your genetics, environment, physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual health. I want to lead and empower you to take action for your health. A big part of my role as your healthcare provider is to educate -- so that you feel comfortable and knowledgeable in making decisions about your body. I have a general family practice, helping patients of all ages (prenatal to geriatric). While I enjoy treating a wide range of conditions, I have a special interest in women’s health, hormonal and digestive health, autoimmunity, fertility and perinatal care, children's health, weight management, and stress, depression, and anxiety. I have taken additional training to become a certified Naturopathic Doula, and although I am not currently offering Doula services, I employ this knowledge in treating perinatal and pediatric populations. I have also gained valuable insight into the complexities of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities in my clinical internship with ND and author Dr. Louise McCrindle. Willow's background: Willow graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, where she completed her four-year, full time medical training to become a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. This included a twelve-month clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Brampton Naturopathic Clinic within the Brampton Civic Hospital. During her clinical year, she was selected for a specialty shift focusing on the treatment of complex, chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. She was also chosen to facilitate the Be Your Best Self program, a 9-week weight management and healthy lifestyle program. Willow also had the opportunity to work a rotation at the Anishnawbe Health Center for Aboriginals and in 2014, travelled to Haiti to provide care through Naturopaths Without Borders. Willow grew up in Hampton, NB – a small, close knit community surrounded by beautiful countryside. She was first introduced to many of the ideals of Naturopathic Medicine from a young age, where eating clean, local foods, getting plenty of fresh air and activity, and using natural therapies were a norm within her family home. Willow went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Anthropology from Mount Allison University. It was here that she discovered Naturopathic Medicine – the perfect calling to meld her love of science and the art of medicine. Willow blends modern-day scientific research and evidence-based medicine with traditional therapies, to help bring your body back into balance, help you feel like yourself again, and achieve greater long-term health. Willow is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the Saskatchewan Association of Naturopathic Practitioners, the New Brunswick Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors Outside of the office, Willow enjoys cooking (especially the eating!), spending time in nature, and a good board game with family and friends.
