Italian Ricotta Cheesecake for Ashley today and anyone else who might be interested. We're serving it with Blueberry Sauce and a little whipped cream. We also have the Mexican Chocolate Cake, Quiche Lorraine and Greek Spinach Quiche and Spinach and Potato Soup on the menu. We will be closing at 4:00 today and be closed tomorrow in order to give our employees time with their families on the holiday. We will open again on Wednesday and look forward to seeing everyone. It's Raspberry Jewel Cake today. That's 3 layers of vanilla almond cake with raspberry between the layers and Swiss meringue buttercream. The sides get dusted with coconut to finish it off. Yum!

It's Coconut Cake with Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting today. Lentil Chili is on the menu as well on this chilly day and we also have Red Pepper Bisque. The quiche are Denver (ham, green pepper, onion cheddar and Gruyere cheese) and Mexican (green chiles, cream cheese and Monterey Jack).

Savory petit four sandwiches filled with a layer of ham salad and one of pineapple walnut cream cheese, frosted with a whipped cream cheese and rolled in walnut dust, are waiting their turn for our Mother's Day tea on Sunday. If you were unable to get into that one our next celebration tea is going to be an Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter tea in June. We'll be posting information soon so look for it here. Coming up this week we'd have Spicy Lentil Chili and Beer Cheddar Cheese Soup. Fresh Strawberry Cake for the beginning of the week and Hummingbird Cake later. A flavor full (yes I meant to use 2 words) week ahead.

Mmmmm. Coconut Cake with Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting and covered in Coconut. That's what tropical dreams are made of along with some Coconut Pouchong Tea. The quiche today are Quiche Lorraine and Mexican and we have Tomato Parmesan Soup as well as Tuscan Bean Soup.

Ok, now it's time to get up on my soap box. Ever since Petty's closed the only lettuce we could purchase in town was nowhere near up to my standards. They were limp and pale. Now Joe from Progressive Farm has his farm up and running and look at this gorgeous lettuce. His stewardship of his land is impeccable. Not only has he been organic for 25 years but soil samples are sent to a state of the art facility to determine everything the soil needs, including minerals. Food grown on this land is full of flavor and nutrition. We are hoping Whole Foods or another store will start carrying his produce and also that he will begin retail sales to the public from the farm. Mushroom Charlottes are on the menu today. They're thin crispy bread containers filled with a rich mushroom filling and served with a currant and port wine sauce. Available individually or you may want to order a side to pair with them such as fresh fruit or rice salad.
