Planning your trip around a town or city can be as simple as asking yourself at the beginning of the trip especially if multi lane roads are involved, "which lane do I need to follow to give me the least lane changes?". Remember, every time you change lanes you chance a crash, and for what? Getting there 20 seconds quicker? Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.
Planning your trip is an important part of the drive, whether it is across town or away on a holiday. Knowing what roadworks and other events that are happening along the way lead to adding extra time for travel. This helps reduce stress from being late, road rage against others who slow you down, and infringement notices for speeding. We at Drivers Licenses NQ advocate that good trip planning is the key to an uneventful drive. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.
Drivers Licenses NQ would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers that it is school holidays and to be aware of extra traffic, learner drivers and more children around on our roads. As well it is wet and overcast so please drive to the conditions. Switch your headlights on and just increase that following distance to about 3 seconds. You will still get there in the same time. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.
Friday 3pm signals the start of the School holidays. We at Drivers Licenses NQ urge all drivers to take note that driving conditions will change over the next couple of weeks. Firstly their will be more traffic on our roads with people taking holidays. Secondly, during this time there will be more Learners on the road taking the opportunity to practice, and Thirdly there will be more young people going to the shopping centres and to holiday jobs. Please be more aware, take care and drive to the conditions. Please lets not add to the road toll over this holiday period. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe
So the Road safety part of the course is finished. Students will sit the test at Qld Transport tomorrow in a group testing situation in the conference room and with the test projected on to the screen and read out one question at a time. After the test they will be presented with a certificate for having completed a road safety program, which is good for their resume, and a free set of L plates. Break the myths. Students who do this course are not just 16, many are in their mid 20's and some well into their 30's.

Another course completed successfully. Another group of Learners out there on our roads armed with Road Safety Education. When you are driving and see an L plate, give them a bit of space and forgive the odd mistake. They are learning after all. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.

Lights on and increase that following distance. You will need more room to stop. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.
Remember that stuff that has been falling from the sky around town the last couple of days? Yes rain, and as we get towards the wet we need to check our wiper blades haven't melted in the heat, our tyres are good for the wet and lights are all working. Take care when driving especially with light showers creating a slippery surface. Lights on when raining mKes it easier for others to see you and increase that following distance out to 3 or 4 seconds. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.

Have a safe weekend, and may the best team (All Blacks) win. Drive Safe, Arrive Safe.
Looking for volunteers to become road safety ambassadors. No experience necessary. Just be concerned that road traum costs Australian approximately $27 billion dollars a year and lots of heartache.
