Ian Wood - deceased The funeral arrangements have now been confirmed as being at Mortonhall Crematorium on Monday 12th January at 11am.
Ian Wood - Deceased It is with the deepest of regret that the Club has to intimate Ian’s death on Christmas Day. He died at a local nursing home after a long illness. Ian was 80 years old and had been a member for 61 years. He was awarded Honorary membership at the 2014 AGM for all his service to the Club. Ian will be very fondly remembered and sadly missed by all at DGC. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. No other information is known at present. As soon as the Funeral Arrangements are known, I will pass them on.
Owing to frost and ice the course is closed until a further inspection at 10am.
Saddened by the death of our Hon Member Norman Mair; Today's Scotsman tells how he would often be found practising at club even after dark.

Today is officially the “Happiest Day of the Year” according to the academics who look into this type of thing. (unless of course you are an England fan! - sorry couldn't resist!) Also, Edinburgh is one of the happiest places in Britain to live and men are happier than women – not my words honest! Anyway, STV were here today to do a bit of filming and interview a few of our members asking them about their thoughts. It will be shown on the 6pm news on STV tonight – Don’t miss it!
