C’est en effet en 1957, que Gérard et Honorine Dumont fondaient le bureau Dumont Assurances dans leur maison familiale. En 1969, Guy le troisième fils de la famille Dumont se joint à son père. Ayant pignon sur rue dans un nouvel édifice commercial à l’entrée de la ville, le bureau d’assurances a ouvert ses horizons vers le domaine des services financiers en plus des services d’assurances. Après avoir œuvré au bureau familial pendant cinq ans au début des années 80, Jean Dumont s’associa à Léandre Audet pour fonder Audet Dumont et Associés en 1988. Situé sur l’avenue Bégin à Lévis, le bureau ne cessa de prospérer. En 1998, M. Dumont acquiert le groupe Létourneau Assurances Générales à Sillery, puis en 2001 la totalité des parts du bureau Audet Dumont et Associés. En 2004, M. Dumont acquiert le bureau familial jusque-là détenu par son frère.
