Description

Canadian pianist David-Michael Dunbar, studied in England at the "Purcell School", "Tanya Polunin School of Pianoforte Playing", "Westbrook House School" (Folkestone Kent) and "Bethany School" (Goudhurst, Kent, England) His teachers included Iris du Pre and Eva Bernathova. He received personal encouragement from the legendary Artur Rubinstein, when he debuted in Cardiff, Wales, in 1974. David-Michael immigrated to Canada in 1977, making his concert debut in 1979, to unanimous acclaim. Following that success, Dunbar performed on national radio and television and in a variety of solo recitals. In 1980 he released an album and received his Canadian citizenship in 1988. Dunbar has composed various original works for keyboard. He taught piano in Kitchener for over three decades, and taught at the Star Performance Academy in Waterloo, Ontario.
