Our purpose is to encourage and promote the practice and knowledge of the art of embroidery in all its forms; to have a fellowship of persons who enjoy all aspects of needlework and wish to learn and share their knowledge; and thereby to work towards maintaining higher standards of design, colour and workmanship. To preserve traditional techniques and promote new challenges in the Art of Embroidery through education and networking.

Manitoba Association of Visual Language Interpreters Visual Language Interpreters provide interpreting services between Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people. Working languages include English and American Sign Language (A.S.L.). The profession is guided by a Code of Ethics. M.A.V.L.I is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We hold annual general meetings, and monthly business meetings which are open to any interested persons. Board members are elected for two year terms. We are a provincial chapter of a national governing body called A.V.L.I.C. (Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada).
