In mid- August, East Side Day Academy will be open to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We will accept the following funding sources: IO Waiver, Self Waiver, Level 1 Waivers, and Private Pay. We believe learning and growing is a fun, life-long process; that developing healthy relationships promotes happiness and success; that people should learn how to build relationships and partnerships in their communities; that people should be empowered to take control and make choices; and that EVERYONE has value and is worthy of LOVE. Program Options Include: DAILY LIVING ACTIVITIES Self Care/Hygiene Meal Planning/Food Preparation Money Management Nutrition SELF EXPRESSION Use of computer technology, including social media Team member participation Evaluation of social situations to facilitate appropriate, positive choices RECREATION/LEISURE Arts/Crafts/Games Community outings and events Fitness activities Appropriate use of leisure time COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE Guided practice through social interaction Shopping experiences for daily living needs Opportunity to learn about the rights and responsibilities that come with being independent Community safety and awareness COMMUNICATION/SOCIALIZATION Recognizing feelings and identifying social cues Guided communication in social environments Using technology to communicate
