You may be aware that the members of our Musical Theatre Academy have been invited to join with the newly formed Worcester On Stage Company in their upcoming production of The Addams Family Musical. This is a brand new Andrew Lippa musical and only a few groups have been granted the amateur performing rights for this year. All of the familiar characters from the TV show are included in the show, and the music is brilliantly original and very catchy. The Worcester on Stage (WOS) team have very kindly offered students of the school a discount code for a discounted ticket. If you are a student of the school please contact the office for the code!!! The show runs from the 31st of March until the 4th of April, performances at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday, at the Crescent theatre Birmingham.

Next year we are going to be running a fun charity venture - the 'Gradeoneathon'! The way it works - students become the teachers and teach us staff members how to play an instrument we can’t play yet! Eg. I might get taught violin! By the end of the year it is hoped we will reach grade 1. Doing the exam is optional but we will have a charity concert in the summer term to show off our new skills with our young teachers. This gives the students good experience, the staff a bit of fun and a new skill, and raises the profile of the school as well as some money! In order to do this we need: - teachers who are willing to have a go at a different instrument. - students (suggest grade 5 as a minimum but higher if possible) who are willing to do a bit of teaching. - instruments! Everyone taking part will be asked to pay a small sum (e.g. £10 per term) and the lessons will be organised between the teacher and student at a relevant time. More details will follow but can I ask you to look in your schools, attics, under sofas etc for any instruments that you may have lying around which are not being used and which may help to support this project. Also - please do let me know if you think you are interested in signing up. The sooner we know who may require what - the sooner we can get organised! A sign up sheet will soon be up in the school so watch out for further details! Lots of love! Marie.
