To seek to improve the social, economic and political status of women and those who are socially and economically oppressed. Elizabeth Fry Kingston was established in 1949 by a group of eight women who began visiting women serving sentences in the Prison for Women. Over 65 years later the agency is a long standing, non profit, charitable social service agency serving the greater Kingston area. We have a strong Board of Directors and long-term dedicated staff who have developed a high level of experience and expertise in dealing with women’s issues, particularly with women who are, have been, or are at risk of coming into conflict with the law and in the area of homelessness and prevention.
