Ellerby's York is the newly refurbished restaurant at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Ellerby’s restaurant is a new concept for staff and visitor catering operated by the Trust’s own in-house catering team. This is the most visible part of a recently completed £4.3 million refurbishment of the Catering department including the central production unit for patient meals at York Hospital. The name Ellerby’s is a tribute to the late Keith Ellerby who dedicated his entire career to catering services at this Trust. Keith started in 1962 as an apprentice cook in Bootham Park Hospital and ended his career as Trust Food Safety and Quality Manager. Keith died suddenly as the result of a tragic accident whilst sea angling, in October 2011. He was just starting his 50th year of service with the Trust.
