ELLoquence is a digital curriculum that blends high-tech and hands-on instruction to significantly improve learning outcomes for ELL students. ELLoquence is a complete, comprehensive curriculum for ELLs in grades 6-12 that emphasizes academic subjects. It is aligned to Common Core and WIDA standards and is designed to be used in classrooms with students at one or more levels of English proficiency. Thesys is pleased to introduce v3.0 of ELLoquence with 8 new unit topics, added rubrics by type of learning activity, improved voice recording capability, provide a Google Drive workflow, made tests and quizzes printable, added more grammar learning activities, and added critical reading questions. Teaching English as a Second Language is a difficult job. What sets this program apart is that there is a lot of teacher work that went into designing and vetting the curriculum. The strategies and content are developed by our own teachers in their classrooms for Basic, Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced level ELL students. With demands from the Common Core, ELA and WIDA standards much greater, ELLoquence provides a structure that gives teachers a strong level of support. They spend less time finding or creating (i.e., more than typically required for other courses), making the ELL teacher’s job easier and more manageable. The result is more time with students and improved outcomes.
