Emory Eye Center's physicians, surgeons and vision care specialists provide expert medical services in 12 subspecialties: cataract; comprehensive ophthalmology; cornea, external disease and refractive surgery; cosmetic facial services; genetics; glaucoma; LASIK and refractive surgery; low vision; neuro-ophthalmology; ocular oncology and pathology; oculoplastics, orbital and cosmetic surgery; pediatric ophthalmology; strabismus; uveitis and vasculitis; and vitreoretinal surgery and diseases (retina). Patients of any age with diseases or disorders affecting the eye and surrounding areas receive care in one of our many locations. In addition to clinical patient care, physicians from across the globe seek resident and fellowship training from our internationally renowned clinical and basic science faculty. Our pioneering interdisciplinary programs, such as the L. F. Montgomery Laboratory, aim to improve health and quality of life by addressing complex problems holistically, through the integration of clinical and research knowledge and perspectives. Groundbreaking, multidisciplinary basic science and clinical research at Emory Eye Center focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Our research goal is the translation of laboratory findings into treatments for eye diseases and the prevention of blindness.
