Description
Empire United focuses on providing a high level foil training environment. In order to participate in private or group instruction a fencer must be a member of the club. Fencers may pay for the membership annually ($895 for a 12 month season) or monthly ($105). The club offers a monthly two class package for ($300) or monthly unlimited class package for ($400). Private lessons may be scheduled with the coaches and are ($40/ 20 min). Open bouting is offered at the club towards the conclusion of our group classes. A fencer may pay a floor fee and does not need to be a member in order to participate in open bouting. A typical fencer at our club attends at least three, and in most cases four classes a week and takes two to three lessons per week. Without a consistent commitment to both private and group instruction we find that it is incredibly challenging for a fencer to move their level forward.
How To Get to Empire United Fencing
Coming from NYC: 1: Take the PATH train to Hoboken, transfer to the Tonnelle Ave bound Light rail and get off at 9th/Congress St. Take the public elevator (located at the light rail station) up to Street level and walk along Congres St. for 2 blocks and take a left on Palisade Ave. Walk 2 blocks to the club at 500 Palisade Ave. ***Weekend Transit Advisory*** Weekends there is no Tonnelle Ave bound light rail leaving from Hoboken. Recommend taking the PATH to Newport and getting a Tonnelle Ave bound light rail to 9th/Congress St. (Its still only two stops). 2: Take the PATH train to Hoboken, transfer to the 87 bus.
