As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Col 2:6 Walk in Him - The word of God here is encouraging each believer to walk according to the words of Jesus, or imitate Him. The words of Jesus should not just be good words we hear about rather make it our lifestyle. Rooted and built up - going deep in studying the words of Jesus (Bible). Drawing life from Gods word as a tree would draw water and nutrients from the ground and grow upward. Any majestic tree has a deeper root structure below. Established in faith as you have been taught - faith is to put Gods word into action, and faith comes by hearing Gods word. Putting to action what we hear from Gods Word and being diligent to grow stronger with the help of the Holy Spirit. Abounding with thanksgiving- this is the will of God for our lives. Stay blessed.
It is not of you, but it is through you. 2 Cor 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. Word of God reminds us that we are the channel for God to display his power. Its interesting to note that God is seeking candidates who can submit themselves for this purpose and allow that power of God to be displayed. 2 Chro 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and from throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. God just wants our availability not our ability. Every character in Gods word starting from Abraham to the new testament disciples including Peter did not have the characters for a great task that God was about to give them. But the as the word says, ... " that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us". Abraham was challenged with his age, Moses struggled with his stammering, Joshua with his inexperience, David with his size, Peter with his rough upbringing all common people but God used them to do extraordinary tasks. It was when they submitted to the will of God and allowed God to work through them knowing that it was not of them but through them that they saw the mighty power of God demonstrate through their lives. They became the father of nations, the Lords servant, the great leader, man after Gods heart and the anointed preacher likewise. Child of God its your turn now. History is writing your story now. Can you trust God to allow him to use your life to demonstrate this great power of God through your life? In whatever situation you are right now and where you are.. He can use you and demonstrate His power through you. God bless you.
Peace not as the world “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” words of Jesus as in John 14:27 Peace is the greatest need of today. We need peace in our world, we need peace in our families, and we need peace within ourselves. There are many things in the world that lure people to them with the offer of peace but many of its subscribers soon come to know that it was only an illusion. Peace is not the fulfilment of our dreams; Peace is not the presence of everything that we desire nor is it the absence of worries. Some things can give us temporary euphoria but not the lasting peace that Jesus gives. Peace is when ‘The Prince of Peace- Jesus’ dwells in your hearts. Jesus has the peace that surpasses understanding, beyond reasoning and logic. The above words of Jesus were spoken to his disciples and the word is true for anyone who is a disciple of Jesus even today. His offer has stood the test of time and stands firm today for everyone who needs peace in their lives. Jesus did not come to make a religion he came to make a relationship with man and God. You never become a Christian by birth, rather by acceptance of Jesus into your life by personal choice. Jesus has His peace to give and not like the peace of the world. Ask Him today to fill you with His peace, invite Him to be the king of your heart. Give Jesus a try. Know Jesus, know peace. No Jesus, No peace.
Wish you and your family a blessed New Year 2015.
What is faith? A simple child like answer is to simply believe Gods word and obey it. Many times we over complicate Gods word, whereas that's not what God has intended when He gave His word to us. Jesus says ".......for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you" Mat 17:20 Believe and say...mountains will move, situations will change, doors will be opened, visas will be granted, blessings will be released...God cannot lie. Amen Heb 11:30 says "...by faith the walls of Jericho fell down..." Your faith unleashes the power of God to crush the mighty wall that separates you from your blessing. Simple obedience will change impossible situations in your life today as you receive this word in faith. Believe and confess.. God is able. Say an amen if you agree
Sharing a portion from a book I'm reading right now. Just goes onto show how privileged we are to live in a period where we experience the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Read on... "Sometimes, I hear people talk about the different men and women of the Old Testament, and there is a hint of jealousy. They may say it, or just insinuate it, but here's what they communicate...'What would it have been like to hear God's voice and see him move in such powerful ways? I wish it was the same for us as it was for those whose stories we read about in scripture. When I get to heaven I can't wait to ask David, Elijah, or Moses what it was like.' But I think it will be just the opposite in heaven. Before we can ask David what it was like to slay a giant, to win the battles, he'll say, Tell me what it was like on earth to have the Holy Spirit inside of you, giving you strength when you are weak. We might say to Elijah, What was it like to call down fire from heaven before the prophets of Baal and to raise that boy from the dead? And I think Elijah might say, yeah, he actually ended up dying again. You tell me what it's like to have God living inside of you. What was it like to live life on earth with the Holy Spirit giving you joy when you're depressed or giving you the power to overcome that sin in your life? We might say to Moses, What was it like to follow the cloud by day and the fire by night? What was it like to meet with God on that Mountain? And Moses might say, I had to climb that mountain to meet with God. You tell me what it was like to have him dwell in you everyday. What was it like to have the Holy Spirit giving you directions when you didn't know what to do or where to go?" After reading this aren't we blessed by His presence on a daily basis? Isn't His daily Word enough for us to fight those battles we find hard for us? Rest in His presence child of God. His presence goes before you. You're never alone nor do you have to climb mountains to meet God. He's right there beside you He's living inside of you.
For the eyes of The Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him (2 Chr 16:9) A servant who is loyal will not only do what His master has told him to do, but also do those things which pleases his master. In other words the servant "discerns" the wish of his master, because he is connected to his master through his heart. There was one such person of whom God, the Master of all creation, had a testimony to say. King David - "a man after my own heart, who will do all My will" (Acts 13:22). He was in no way near to being perfect, but David did one thing that truly pleased God - he sought the will of God, always. And because he did so, The Lord showed Himself strong on his behalf when he faced the giant of his lifetime - Goliath. Understand that the troubles in your life is nothing before The Lord of Hosts, but deliverance comes to those who are faithful from the inside out, those whose heart is connected to His heart and where every area of your heart is open for Him to dwell in. A loyal heart. God bless you. Jobin John.
The thief does not come, except to steal, to kill and to destroy. I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly (Jn 10:10) Love, joy, peace , happiness are all gifts that a child of God enjoys through His relationship with Jesus. But the devil is jealous and doesn't want us to enjoy these fruits of the Spirit. He tricks us with discouraging words and allures us to "think". The more we think, the more we doubt of the Lords goodness, and occasionally he (the devil) succeeds to bring havoc into the mind of a God fearing man. The only way we, as children of God can survive these "scare tactics" is kneel before The Lord of Hosts, and surrender your mind, soul and body into His hands. The Master knows our every weakness and He puts His hand into the depths of our mind and touches it and heals it. He then replaces the lies of the devil with the truth of the Father and restores true life into our body and soul. Thus, He said "I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly". If your life is in a state of havoc and you don't know who to go to, I plead that you do what I do. Take your broken heart to Jesus and wait patiently until He mends it, and restores to the fullest. God bless you. Jobin John.
