EngiQueers provides positive, accepting, inclusive, and accessible environments for queer-identified students and their allies in engineering.
EngiQueers promises to: 1. Cultivate a positive, accepting, inclusive, and accessible environment for queer-identified students and their allies in engineering. 2. Advocate on behalf of LGBTQ students and their allies to EngSoc. 3. Provide dedicated support to LGBTQ students and their allies entering the first year of studies in engineering by hosting Queerientation events during the first month of classes (Queerientation events may be held in conjunction with other queer-positive groups). 4. Communicate with other queer-positive groups to provide the best resources and experiences to members. 5. Inform members of events and opportunities provided by other queer-positive groups in the Queen’s or wider community. 6. Host an annual Rainbow Ritual event at Clark Hall Pub. 7. Host regular, all-ages, inclusive, and accessible events for queer-identified students and their allies. 8. Provide queer-positive education, resources, and support for engineering students. EngiQueers is dedicated to cultivating a positive, accepting, inclusive, and accessible environment for queer-identified students and their allies in engineering, and to advocating on behalf of LGBTQ students and their allies to the Engineering Society of Queen’s University.
