Description
Escher in Het Paleis is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the world-famous artist M.C. Escher, whose art startled millions of people all over the world. The collection is housed in the former Winter Palace of Queen Mother Emma of the Netherlands. It is the only public building in The Hague where the original royal ambience of a palace has been maintained. In Escher in Het Paleis, almost all of the works of the world-famous Dutch artist M.C. Escher (1898-1972) are on display. Highlight of the visit and crown on the exhibition is the 7 meters long Metamorphosis III. This enormous woodcut and the non-conventional way of displaying it let’s the visitor actually exprience Escher combining time and space as an organic unity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Escher in Het Paleis toont permanente de wereldberoemde, fantasievolle voorstellingen van de kunstenaar M.C. Escher en is gevestigd in het voormalige winterpaleis van koningin-Emma. Het is in Den Haag het enige openbare gebouw waar de oude paleisfunctie nog te ervaren is. Bij Escher in Het Paleis hangen bijna alle werken van de wereldberoemde Nederlandse kunstenaar M.C. Escher (1898-1972) met als hoogtepunt en kroon op de tentoonstelling de 7 meter lange Metamorfose III.
