All young people have potential. We create opportunities for them to fulfill it. We're a charity working with youth clubs in Essex & E.London.
The clubs we support provide fantastic (and mainly generously volunteered) safe environments for young people to gather, away from threats of drugs, alcohol & crime. We believe in the positive impact that adventurous activities, sports and arts can have on young people, so we take equipment and professional coaches to clubs, arrange inter- and outer- club competitions and organise adventure courses. Our activities are designed to build life skills and develop character in preparation for adulthood, citizenship and employment. Self-esteem, teamwork, problem-solving, courage, self-awareness and empathy are but a few of the positive effects of our range of activities on the young people we work with. Young people can benefit from a wide variety of opportunities offered through EBGC, such as: > Adventure days and camps at our large residential activity centre, Stubbers, in East London. > Adventure camps at our small residential activity centre, High Row, in the Lake District. > International expeditions > International exchanges. > Boxing training sessions at clubs, inter- and outer- club championships, with the support of the Amateur Boxing Association. > Rugby League training at clubs, with the support of Rugby Football League. > Football cage sessions at clubs, inter-club 5-a-side tournaments, organised matches against public schools as the EBGC Rep. Football team. > Cricket and Kwik Cricket sessions at clubs, inter-club matches, organised matches against public schools as the EBGC Rep. Cricket team. > Table Tennis competitions. > Archery training and competitions. > Shooting training and competitions. > Fishing competitions. > Scuba diving training, for PADI certification. > Street dance sessions. > Farm experiences, including camping and bushcraft skills. > Teams entered into competitions and events with the national parent body Clubs for Young People including the 100 mile canoe test. > Club teams entered into fundraising events including the Essex Jailbreak. > and much more...!
