Exeter Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Exeter, and a centre of worship, teaching and mission.
Exeter Cathedral is one of the great cathedrals of England, and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture anywhere. Its visual beauty is a story in stone and glass, embroidery and wood of the faith that built it; a faith which is alive and well and can be experienced here every day. Exeter Cathedral has a rich heritage as a place of prayer, pilgrimage and wonder and is loved by many around the world. We hope that you will be one of them.

We're currently repairing some of the 19th century drainage system that runs under Cathedral Green. It seems that drainage has been an issue before. Here's an extract from the Chapter Acts in November 1735. The original copy is still in our Library and Archives: Mr Bury granted one guinea towards his release from prison; action to be brought against Mr Glanvill...'for denying admittance of the Chapter's workmen into his courtlage to repair the Church water pipes which run through it'
Also next month, our Education Department (Exeter Cathedral Education) are working with the Exetreme Imagination Festival. We've got three authors with connections to Devon joining us: Babette Cole, Hilary Robinson and Ellen Renner. Check out our website for more information www.exeter-cathedral.org.uk/events
