Our Vision: A community where families are strong and all children belong. Family Respite Services Windsor/Essex supports over 900 families who are caring for children (0-18) years of age. Over 600 Direct Support Providers work directly with children engaging in meaningful activities, while parents get a short break. FRS mission is to enrich the quality of family life, while seeking the fullest participation of the child in the community.

General Info

FRS Programs • Respite Providers - working with children in the family home/community, engaging in meaningful activities a few hours/week • Associate Families - families welcoming a child into their home for a weekend stay • Staffed Respite Homes - children stay at the home for a weekend on a regular basis • Community Based Repsite - FRS works in partnership with local recreation programs to provide support for children to participate while their family has a natural break. This is available in a limited number of settings. This includes the “Our Time, Fantastic Fridays” and summer day camps programs. • Sibling Support - a group setting to interact with other children who have a sibling with a disability

All proceeds from the tournament will be used to help provide the many programs/services that we offer to our clients to help secure employment or provide basic needs like food or winter coats for kids. The Unemployed Help Centre is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the unemployed; economically challenged in the Windsor; Essex County area. We have been providing various programs/services to address the specific needs of our target population since 1977. These include but are not exclusive to employment/educational/career counselling; effective job search techniques; resumes and cover letters; pre-employment training programs; on-the-job training programs; literacy; Resource Centre for self conducted job searching; emergency food assistance. We are a community-based agency, governed by a Board of Directors. We are funded through: federal, provincial; municipal government grants, the United Way as a member agency, private donations, the Windsor and District Labour Council and our own fundraising activities.
