Founded in 1931 and affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh, Falk is a Progressive laboratory school serving 400 students in grades K-8.
Established through a collaboration between the Falk Foundation and the University of Pittsburgh, Falk Laboratory School is a dynamic and innovative K-8 school that has been located on the University of Pittsburgh campus since 1931. Closely affiliated with the Pitt School of Education, Falk has educated generations of children through the careful and intentional use of Progressive educational methodologies, including: learning-by-doing; inquiry-based pedagogical models; project-based and place-based education; an emphasis on collaboration and group problem-solving; and multi-disciplinary approaches to learning.
