Substantial eco-friendly 3-bedroom log cabin (sleeps 5) nestling in the foothills of the beautiful Monadhliath Mountains. Close to many of the best tourist attractions in the Scottish Highlands. Peaceful location on a hill farm 9 miles south of Inverness and only a short distance from Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield and the Cairngorms. Ideally located for walking, touring, mountain biking with tremendous opportunities to explore this fascinating part of Northern Scotland. You can even bring your own horse (paddock and stable provided) to explore the extensive network of forest tracks nearby. Built in 2011 to a high standard, with the guests’ enjoyment and comfort a priority, this modern holiday lodge is heated by renewable energy systems and is fitted with free wi-fi and internet enabled TV systems. Fearnag Lodge has been awarded a “4 Star” grading by VisitScotland and a ‘Gold Award’ by the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The Lodge comprises modern, comfortable accommodation fitted with up-to-date I.T. systems. Heated by ground source heat pump, solar water heating and a wood burning stove, our low-carbon log cabin is designed with the environment in mind (Green Tourism Award pending). The bright and spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living area has direct access on to a covered terrace. The living area is equipped with a 37”flat screen internet enabled TV with surround-sound, blue ray player and Skype camera. Free wi-fi (filtered) will enable you to keep in touch with the outside world. The kitchen has all the usual modern appliances (including electric hob/oven, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, washer/drier) and a solid granite worktop. There are three bedrooms – one single, one twin and a master bedroom with king-size bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, cathedral-style ceiling, 32” Freesat TV (internet enabled) and direct access on to a generously sized balcony offering excellent views across farmland, woodland and the hills of Strathnairn. Downstairs, the main toilet comprises a large walk-in shower and grab rails for the less mobile. Ground floor level doors are all wide enough to permit wheelchair access to the single bedroom, kitchen/ dining/ living area, main toilet and front terrace. Ideal holiday/vacation destination for: • Active outdoor pursuits – walking, cycling, fishing • Touring the Northern and Western Highlands • Sandy Beach within 30 minute drive • Golf – plenty top quality golf courses within easy reach • Exploring heritage and archaelogical sites (some fine examples on the farm) • Executive short/long breaks (tele-conference with Skype enabled TV) • Horse riding – bring your own horse. Paddock and stable (for 2 horses) right next to log cabin • Birdwatching and wildlife – RSPB Loch Ruthven reserve 3 miles • Easy walking/wheelchair access needs Adequate parking is provided adjacent to the Lodge for two cars. A well stocked local shop (1.25 miles) provides newspapers, basic grocery needs and a very friendly welcome to all visitors to Strathnairn. The local hotel (2 miles) serves meals to non-residents. A wide variety of restaurants and shops are available in Inverness (15 minute drive). Sorry, no smoking or pets.
