Finaghy dental practice is a family orientated practice wanting to provide each patient with quality dental care in a friendly, unhurried and caring way.
When you have been up all night with a toothache, we will see you the next day and get you sorted. When you have a crown that has come out , and you cant go to work looking like Shane Magowan from The Pogues , we will get it sorted for you promptly . When you are heading off on holiday, and something is troubling you at the last minute and you need it looked at urgently, we will do it. Patients want the dentistry that they receive, to last, and not need re-done for a lifetime. Do it once, and do it right, is what both patients and ourselves want. We love to see work that was carried out years ago, continue to last and serve our patients well. A patient needing very little future dentistry is success for all of us in the long term.

Finaghy Dental Practice eNewsletter Welcome to the second edition of our practice newsletter. Our aim is to update you on the happenings at the practice. We hope to have 3 Newsletters per year to let all our patients know the latest news at the practice and also any special offers we will be running. Renovations We are currently in the process of updating our premises, we would like to apologise to our patients for any inconvenience during this time. The practice has already completed a dedicated sterilisation room and ground floor toilet facilities. We are in the process of incorporating a downstairs surgery and a general refit to the building overall. We appreciate your patience while these renovations are carried out, the builders are back on site at the practice , constructing a downstairs surgery which we hope to have operational in 6 months time. I am sorry that we may not have parking available at the front of the practice while work is ongoing, but if I can suggest a few alternatives. Iceland foodstore carpark. £1 for 1 hour . The maximum stay is one hour, so be aware. Finaghy public library, beside Finaghy primary school has a free car park . This is 200 yards from the practice on Finaghy road south. Orpen Drive , parallel to finaghy road south has free parking available all day long. You would then have a 300 yard walk to the practice . For disabled patients , we will still do our best to accommodate you. Contact us in advance and we will try and arrange something . We appreciate your patience , and the downstairs facilities will be a great benefit to us all. Many thanks , Joe Scullion Practice Principal Keeping in Touch with you We are delighted to announce that our text messaging service has been up and running from end of February to remind patients of their appointments. The practice is receiving very positive feedback from our patients about this service. If Wednesdays don’t suit, any of the dentists will be delighted to provide a similar service. Mouth Cancer Did you know that visiting the dentist could save your life? The reason is simple. Part of our examination process is to check for signs of oral cancer, and early diagnosis is vital in order to combat this disease. Oral cancer is on the increase and it is a disease that can seriously affect your quality of life. Early symptoms include mouth ulcers that don’t heal, white or red patches or any other unusual changes in your mouth. Regular Examinations We can't stress enough the importance of regular check-ups with your dentist, you should see your dentist twice a year and if needed visit the hygienist. The dentist will recommend any treatment that is necessary and whether regular hygienist visits are needed. That's why at Finaghy Dental Practice we encourage you to rebook your 6 monthly exam before you leave and have introduced the text messaging service to remind patients that their recall is due. Just remember that prevention is better than cure. Opening Times: We open each morning at 8am and this time proves very popular with our patients as it allows patients to come to the dentist before work or school. We usually find we can accommodate most patients’ appointment needs, so please feel free to have a chat with us and we’ll try and get something sorted.
