Finley's Pub - Washington Park pub featuring craft beer and an upscale, farm-to-table menu.
Finley's Pub is owner Pete VanItallie's homage to the neighborhood bars he grew up with - cozy, comfortable, conversational, with top-notch fare coming from the kitchen. Situated in the heart of West Washington Park in Denver, Colorado, Finley's Pub is a place for neighbors to gather and celebrate, not zone out to TV. Featuring an all-craft beer tap lineup and a bottle selection that spans the globe, it's obvious to see that Pete wants to share his passion for fermented malt and hops with the masses. Pete brought in the talented Bentley Folse to run the kitchen for Finley's Pub, and gave him a long leash to develop his own unique brand of pub grub. Folse didn't disappoint, crafting a menu of smart, farm driven items that pay homage to his Louisiana beginnings (and he may have created the best burger in town too). From the Denver Post: "Finley's is small and dim, as every good pub should be, but its comfortable atmosphere seems family-friendly; one can imagine kids coming to Finley's with their parents for lunch or an early-evening dinner. A child's crayon-on-construction-paper drawing of the pub hangs in one of the booths, even. Still, at heart, this is a bar, right? A place for drinking. Finley's does a nice job with that, too. The booze menu is short and well priced. The all-craft-brew tap list includes selections from Colorado breweries like Odell and Great Divide, plus out-of-towners Stone and Green Flash. Many drafts ring up at a jaw-droppingly affordable $3.75 — the priciest draw is a Belgian Tripel Karmeliet, at $7. One of the nicest things about Finley's is that there's only one TV. Mounted in a corner of the bar, it's not even especially large. Chances are it'll be showing sports, but it's refreshing to visit a down-to-earth pub and not have a half-dozen fancy televisions blaring a cacophony of sports commentary. Instead, the commentary comes from the patrons, who also take the time to chat up the barkeeps and their fellow drinkers. Just like a pleasant pub on the Emerald Isle, Finley's excels at one, very important thing: being neighborly." Come check us out! 375 S. Pearl St., just 1/2 block south of Alameda on Pearl. Happy Hour runs twice daily, from 4-7pm and 10-12pm. Happy Hour Specials: $1 off Drafts / $0.50 off Bottles $2 Wells $1 off appetizers (4-7pm only, late night menu coming soon)
