Piano Lessons:
Piano Lessons for all ages and all levels. Kids can start as young as they start showing interest in music or mature enough to start learning the art of playing the piano.
How it works:
A quick assessment is done on the child's tolerance level in terms of concentration and length of the lesson.
Course objective:
Students learn to play the piano through ear-training, music theory, music history, music appreciation, and highly motivating repertoire.
The program follows a monthly schedule.
Packages:
-30 min per week, 4 times a month: $100.00
-1 hour per week, 4 times a month: $200.00
* Monthly Payment is due at the beginning of each month
*Classes available 7 days a week.
During the year the students will engage in recitals to develop confidence and also for the parents to appreciate their kid’s progress.
Biography:
Florencia Guzman, born in Monterrey, Mexico, comes from a family of professional musicians, and represents the fourth generation of pianists. She acquired her first music knowledge from her parents and grandmother.
Florencia began her musical studies with Dr. Rodrigo González Barragán, PhD.
She has taken International Piano Courses with David Renner and Lita Guerra at the University of Texas; Adam Wodnicki at University of North Texas; Alexander Pashkov at The Roses Music Conservatory in Morelia, Mexico.
Guzmán has taken master classes with Jörg Demus, Jorge Luis Pratts, Krassimira Jordan and Margrit Zimmermann.
Florencia studied at the School of Music and Dance of Monterrey, (ESMDM) Mexico, in the class of Gerardo González; at University of Arts (UNEARTE) in Venezuela, in the class of Olga Lopez; at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL), School of Music, Mexico, in the class of Natalia Tibets.
Guzman has performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras of Mexico as the Symphony Orchestra of UANL and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She has performed under the direction of renowned conductors, such as Antonio Baptista, David Garcia and Carlos Guzman. Guzman has performed alongside the great pianists Amalia Salinas and Carlos Guzman.
From 2010 to 2011, Florencia was the official Pianist of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
She has performed various recitals as a soloist as well as chamber music and recitals with singers during her musical career.
Guzman is a member of the American Choral Directors Association. She has conducted the Collegium Ensemble of Nyack College in New York City.
Guzmán received a scholarship from Nyack College, School of Music in New York City, where she is currently pursuing her musical degree in Piano Performance under the direction of Margrit Zimmermann and Conducting under the direction of Elizabeth Swanson.
In 2013, Guzman took an International Orchestral Conducting course under the direction of Joseph Swensen at U-HAC.
From 2007 to 2011, Guzman taught piano and musical appreciation in her native country of Mexico. Her students have been awarded in the Parnassos National Competition in Mexico. Since 2011, she teaches piano and musical appreciation in New York and New Jersey.
