I am Flossie, and I work (along with my support team) to get cats and kittens in need into their forever homes. They are vet checked, socialised, wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped and desexed.

Description

I am Flossie (Kath), My partners in kitten shenanigans and I rescue and rehabilitate kittens, and the occasional cat, in our homes. We pride ourselves on loving them and caring for them as if they are family pets. A special shout out goes to my beloved friend/sister Nicole who helped me launch Flossie’s and has now taken a step or three back to raise a beautiful baby son. But she is still active behind the scenes and we wouldn’t be here without her. Other members of the team are Kristen, Traecy, Daniel, Melissa, two Dawns and many others. These guys help with things from photography and graphic design skills to admin of the page and hands on help with the kittens. We also use the services of a network of vets, including the Kippax Vet Hospital, the Crookwell Vet Hospital, The Canberra Emergency Vet in Fyshwick, the Gungahlin emergency Vet and others. The adoption fee for our kittens and cats is $270. They come socialised, house-trained, vet checked, wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, desexed and, if old enough and if clinically indicated, are tested for FIV and FeLV before they go off to their forever homes from around 10 - 12 weeks of age. I do my best to keep this up to date, but sometimes things are a llittle frantic and I fall behind. Send me a message to check if we have anyone seeking a home if you like 🙂 We will sometimes take non-refundable deposits of $50 on kittens who aren't yet ready to leave us, and look after them and love them for you until they have had all of their vet work done and have recovered from their desexing procedure. We encourage lots of visits with your future pet while you wait for them to reach the right age and weight for desexing and rehoming. We follow a no-kill philosophy at Flossie's Kitten Rescue . Once we have taken an animal into care, unless there are health issues so severe that the cat has no prospect of a quality life, that cat is safe with us until it has a suitable forever home.
