Folkskills is a platform for connecting learners and teachers of traditional folk skills. Folkskills classes are group classes taught in your community by local experts and enthusiasts. No online classes or webinars here. We encourage classes that draw on the wisdom of the past, on cultural traditions, or on the distinctive regional character of a place. We also love classes on topics of sustainability, energy self-sufficiency, and self-reliance. Additionally, we want to preserve skills or activities that are at risk of someday being eclipsed by contemporary ways of life and/or lost to convenience culture.
