In September 2006, the board of Forgotten Children, Inc. recognized a need to begin an attack on Human Trafficking and prostitution. Our focus was the young girls who were being prostituted on Long Beach Blvd in Lynwood. It is then that we began the “Well Ministry” (after the Samaritan woman at the well) using the Nehemiah approach. For the first ten days during a church-wide fast, we began to pray and seek Gods guidance. One evening, in the early morning hours we began to “walk the wall” to determine the damage. What a revelation. Girls thirteen and fourteen years old were standing on corners offering their precious bodies to predators , and obeying the commands of their pimps in fear of their lives. As we stopped the van and begin to walk the Blvd we realized that we had found where God wanted us to began the ministry. For the past three years we have been going out at various times, setting up a table, with refreshments, and tracts and providing those we meet with a kind word, a hug, and a prayer. We have prayed for hundreds of girls who out of fear, will not speak to us for any length of time. There has also been the opportunity to pray for the “johns” and “pimps”.

Description

Forgotten Children, Inc. is involved in a street ministry to girls and women who are victims of Human Trafficking and prostitution. Our goal is to remove as many as possible from slavery to traffickers and pimps. We are in the process of purchasing a home that will provide a safe haven for these victims.
