The unique venue, situated on the banks of the Red River, will take you back 200 years to the period of the voyageurs and the fur trade in the Northwest, with banquet options, costumed interpreters and lots of Joie de Vivre!
Originally built at the Forks of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers in 1810, Fort Gibraltar was a North West Company fur trade post that also helped control the pemmican trade. The Festival du Voyageur Inc. rebuilt today’s Fort on the east side of the Red River in 1978. Step back in time as costumed interpreters show you around and share tales of what life was like here in the Red River valley from 1815 to 1821. More than an interpretation centre, Fort Gibraltar is one of the city’s most distinctive special event venues. Our unique site, the historical content of our activities and our vast experience in special event planning combine to provide the ideal backdrop for your receptions or meetings.
